Ban lists are a collection of ban entries, administrators can issue to keep their servers clean of malicious individuals.

Ban entries are enforced on identity or ip level, meaning that you can ban any individual player with a unique identity, or ban a ip address or even entire ip range. Depending on the type of ban you want to issue, this can be done either through the player profile (identity) or through the ban list database (ip).

In order for ban entries to apply, a ban list must be added to a game server. For ban lists that you own, this is achieved through the ban list setting under Servers, Settings, Ban list. Alternatively, you can configure it as primary ban list, to unlock automated banning options for Triggers, and Chat/Name Filters.

A ban list is inherently private, but may be used by other servers or followed, using the share code provided on the ban list overview page. Beyond that, a ban list may become listed or verified.

The listed status is granted automatically for ban lists that exceed certain criteria, which aim at measuring a ban lists outreach, activity and substantiality.

The ban list verification is granted for ban lists which do not belong to any individual community, are used on more than 100 game servers and contain at least 2.000 qualified ban entries. These are the minimum requirements, and verification is at the sole discretion of the reviewer.
